how much money should i bring with me to thailand?

I'll be staying in Thailand for 2 weeks in June, we will be visiting several cities while we are there. Im wondering what the typical budget would be for someone visiting Thailand. Im not looking for luxorious accomodations and all that junk...Im definately on a tight budget.

  1. bring 1000$. spend 500 each week.

  2. Bring Ten Million. Spend a few millon each week.

  3. You should bring more money than you intend on spending because you never know what could happen. $200 dollars per week should be sufficient, but with extra, you should have at least $6-800
Remember to keep cash with/on you (in pockets) instead of in a purse/bag/wallet when you travel. And same with credit cards if you can.

  4. rule of thumb is $100 per day. you can get by for less. the modest hotel should run you around 20 – 26 dollar us. food is dirt cheap. the rest is on transportation & activies.

  5. how much sex do u want per day?

  6. You can get by quite comfortably on $40 – $50 a day, especially if you stay outside of the tourist areas. I live near a small city and I can buy more food for dinner than I can eat, already cooked in the mkt for $1.. a great noodle soup lunch for 25 cents – - here, you can get a very nice garden resort for $12.50 w/american b-fast.. busses are very reasonable.. anyway – this is Thailand.. prices in tourist areas can go to the moon, I guess.. but from there, you will want to spend and enjoy on doing stuff – - so, up to your tastes… you might find that you will spend a little more freely because you get more for your money..

but the real answer to your question is that you don’t have to bring much money at all because there are ATM machines everywhere and this is the easiest method.. Yes, you should have some cash or T/C w/you because sometimes the ATM can be down briefly if the weather is bad.. Have Fun – It is a lovely country..

  7. You’re lucky, Thailand is still one of the least expensive tourist destinations on Earth. You can be OK on $40/day for food, hotel and basic traveling around / sightseeing.

While in Thailand, I never try to restrict my spending, and do all I could wish to do… even so, I never managed to top $120/day.

Phuket is a bit more expensive than the rest of the country, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Koh Samet are very good deals.

It’s extremely easy to shop for anything in Thailand — from accomodation to food to travel, almost anywhere in the country you have hundreds of options within 30 min. of where you are — available immediately. I have never seen such abundance and flexibility anywhere else — in the U.S. one needs to carefully plan and book everything, and it still ends up being expensive and less convenient.

  8. It depends on how much money you spend.

  9. that depends on how you manage money

  10. I think I would speand 20 – 30 DOllars a day. A dollar is 40B. So like 20 Dollars is 800b. Accomaodation is like 300-400b, food can be got cheap. SO like 20-30 should be awignt for a tight budget. Try the Lonely planet guide, it is kewl.
